Pro-Palestinian protesters clash with police in London — as it happened
picture hole

Palestine Action protesters clashed with police in Trafalgar Square after they were banned from demonstrating outside Parliament.

Around 500 supporters, some wearing face coverings and waving Palestinian flags, gathered on Monday lunchtime in defiance of an announcement by Yvette Cooper, the Home Secretary, that the group was to be proscribed as a terrorist organisation.

Violence flared when police attempted to speak to a small group but were surrounded by a large mob.

Scotland Yard said at least three protesters had been arrested, two for obstruction and a third on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence.

Macron: Trump air strikes against Iran ‘illegal’

The French president said it could be considered legitimate to bomb nuclear facilities that pose a potential threat but that there was no legal framework, so strikes conducted by the United States and Israel were not legal.

His intervention came as Sir Keir Starmer and a succession of ministers declined to explicitly state the US president had acted within international law or in a correct manner.

Sir Keir was warned by Lord Hermer, his Attorney General, last week that joining a US attack on Iran could breach international law. However, the Prime Minister is coming under increasing pressure to “get off the fence” and say whether the UK backs Mr Trump’s action.

Jordanian Border Officials Deny Entry to A Jew Over Religious Appearance

Shock as young Hasidic man turned away unless he cuts his peyos

In a disturbing incident that has raised serious concerns within the Jewish community, a young Hasidic man traveling with his mother was denied entry into Jordan at the Aqaba border crossing — solely because of his visibly religious appearance.

According to reports, the young man and his mother, both residents of Israel, arrived at the border for what was supposed to be a brief visit to the kingdom. But after a short screening process, Jordanian officials pulled the young man aside and began questioning him. Upon realizing he was an observant Jew, the officials informed him he would only be allowed entry if he agreed to cut off his peyos.

The mother, horrified by the demand, refused outright, choosing instead to return with her son to Israel rather than compromise on their religious principles.

“It’s unthinkable,” the mother said. “In this day and age, to be told that a Jew cannot enter a country unless he violates his faith — it’s pure discrimination and antisemitism.”

This incident is just the latest in a series of growing concerns about religious intolerance in some neighboring countries. The family has since filed a formal complaint, and Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed they are aware of the incident and are engaging diplomatic channels.

“No Jew should ever be asked to choose between their religious observance and their right to travel,” said one senior rabbinic source.

The story has sparked widespread condemnation in Jewish communities worldwide, with calls for greater awareness and stronger protections for religious travelers.

Iran launches missile attack on American base in Qatar in retaliation for US strikes

Iran launched a missile attack on a major US airbase in Qatar on Monday evening, a widely expected retaliation for American strikes on three of its nuclear sites a day earlier.

The strikes targeted the Al Udeid air base in Qatar, which is used by local forces as well as American, British and other foreign troops.

Qatari and US officials said no casualties or injuries were sustained in the attack, and Iran reportedly warned Doha in advance, signaling its likely intent to avoid a further escalation. Qatar said Iran fired 19 missiles at the base, one of which hit.

Iran announced on state television that it attacked American forces stationed at Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base. A caption on screen called it “a mighty and successful response” to “America’s aggression,” as martial music played.

The attack came shortly after Qatar closed its airspace as a precaution, in light of threats from Iran. Bahrain, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates also temporarily closed their airspace during the attack, and a number of airlines canceled flights amid the escalation. The US Ain al-Asad air base in Iraq activated its air defense system out of concern of a potential attack.

A US military official told Reuters that there was no Iranian attack detected at any US military base other than in Qatar, and that there was no impact on the Al Udeid air base. Iran, however, claimed that six missiles struck the base.

On Monday afternoon, US President Donald Trump called the attack a “very weak response” to the “Obliteration of their Nuclear Facilities… which we expected, and have very effectively countered.”

Writing on his Truth Social platform, Trump put the number of missiles that were fired at 14, and said that no Americans or Qataris were harmed. The one missile that hit was allowed to land “because it was headed in a nonthreatening direction,” he wrote.

The president added that he hoped there would “be no further HATE.” He thanked Iran for giving advance notice of the attack.

“Perhaps Iran can now proceed to Peace and Harmony in the Region, and I will enthusiastically encourage Israel to do the same,” he wrote.

Just before the explosions, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian wrote on X: “We neither initiated the war nor seeking it. But we will not leave invasion to the great Iran without answer.”

Iran’s National Security Council confirmed it had attacked the base in Qatar, adding that its response did not “pose any threat” to its Gulf neighbor.

“In response to the US aggressive and insolent action against Iran’s nuclear sites and facilities, a few hours ago, the powerful armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran struck the US air base in Al-Udeid, Qatar,” the council said in a statement, adding that the number of missiles used “was the same as the number of bombs that the US had used in attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities.”

Iran also said it targeted the base because it was outside of populated areas.

“This action does not pose any threat to our friendly and brotherly country, Qatar,” it added.

Trump mocks ‘very weak’ Iran retaliation

US President Donald Trump mocks Iran’s “very weak response” to the “obliteration of its nuclear facilities… which we expected and have very effectively countered.”

He writes on Truth Social that the Iran attack on the US airbase in Qatar consisted of 14 missiles — 13 of which were shot down while one was allowed to land “because it was headed in a non-threatening direction.”

Trump says no Americans were harmed in the attack and that “hardly any damage was done.”

“They’ve gotten it all out of their ‘system,’ and there will, hopefully, be no further HATE,” Trump writes.

“I want to thank Iran for giving us early notice, which made it possible for no lives to be lost and nobody to be injured,” Trump says.

“Perhaps Iran can now proceed to peace and harmony in the region, and I will enthusiastically encourage Israel to do the same,” he adds.

In a subsequent post, Trump thanks the Qatari emir for “all that he has done in seeking peace for the region.”

He also notes that no Qatari citizens were killed or wounded in the Iranian attack.

In a third post, Trump declares, “CONGRATULATIONS WORLD, IT’S TIME FOR PEACE!”

Trump says Israel and Iran have agreed to ‘complete and total ceasefire’

US President Donald Trump announces that Israel and Iran have agreed to a “complete and total ceasefire.”

In a Truth Social post announcing the development, Trump says the ceasefire will start to take effect in about six hours, after Israel and Iran have “wound down” their final strikes against each other.

Trump says the ceasefire will come fully into place in 24 hours, bringing about an “official end to the 12-day war.”

“Iran will start the ceasefire and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the ceasefire and, upon the 24th Hour, an official end to the 12 Day War,” he adds.

It’s not completely clear from Trump’s post when each side side will begin holding its fire.

“I would like to congratulate both countries —- Israel and Iran —- on having the stamina, courage, and intelligence to end, what should be called, ‘the 12-Day war,’” Trump writes.

Iran Fires Six Missile Barrages at Israel — Four Killed, Rachmana Litzlan
picture hole

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, Iran launched a wave of missile attacks on Israel, firing six separate barrages between 5:00 and 7:15 a.m. — just before a U.S.-brokered ceasefire was set to begin.

The first barrage, identified shortly after 5:00 a.m., included two missiles, both of which were intercepted. No injuries were reported.

The second barrage, launched around 5:30 a.m., included four missiles. One of them scored a direct hit on a seven-story residential building in Be’er Sheva, causing severe damage. Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics rushed to the scene, where they treated several casualties.

Tragically, four people were killed, rachmana litzlan: a man in his 40s, a woman in her 30s, and a young man in his 20s were critically wounded and later pronounced dead. A fourth victim was found lifeless under the rubble. Seven others were injured, including some moderately and lightly wounded, and were evacuated to Soroka Hospital.

Rescue forces remain at the scene, working to extract three additional individuals believed to be trapped beneath the debris.

A third barrage followed just after 6:10 a.m., triggering sirens across central Israel, the Sharon, and Shfela regions. All three missiles were intercepted.

The fourth barrage came shortly after 6:30 a.m., again setting off sirens in central Israel, Samaria, and surrounding areas. Two to three missiles were believed to have been launched in that round.

By 6:53 a.m., a fifth barrage was detected, with sirens sounding in northern Israel, including Haifa. Missiles were intercepted, and no injuries were reported.

A sixth barrage was launched at 7:15 a.m., just moments after the official start of the ceasefire, causing sirens in the Sharon region and parts of the north.

These attacks came shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Iran had agreed to a 12-hour ceasefire, set to begin at 7:00 a.m. local time. Trump posted on Truth Social that Iran would begin halting fire at 1:00 a.m. Eastern Time, followed by Israel six hours later

IDF reveals secret electromagnetic unit prevents Iranian suicide drone attacks on Israel
picture hole

The IDF on Monday made a rare disclosure, noting that its highly secret 5114th Battalion electromagnetic spectrum unit downed dozens of Iranian drones over the last week or so.

So secret is the unit that even in those rare cases where the IDF has admitted its existence and discussed its activities, it has usually refrained from giving the kids of specifics in terms of adversaries and dates of use which it gave on Monday.

Lt.-Col. “B” on Monday said that the downing of dozens of Iranian drones was a critical additional layer of defense for Israel against aerial threats.

It has been widely reported and the Post has confirmed that Israel has certain limitations regarding interceptors for shooting down enemy drones and missiles, such that using other methods, like the 5114th Battalion, can also help Israel conserve interceptors from a strategic perspective.

Another unique aspect of the unit is that it is jointly operated by a mix of the IDF Communications Command along with the Intelligence and Cyber Defense Directorate, which often get more public attention.
