Polish police are investigating after arresting a man suspected of plotting an attack against Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, the interior ministry tells AFP. Searches are continuing at the suspect’s home, ministry spokeswoman Karolina Galecka says, adding: “Information about this man will of course then be verified by the police.” This came after Tusk and interior minister Marcin Kierwinski said that a suspect had been detained. “The man threatening an attack has been detained,” Tusk wrote, praising the police for their “swift and decisive action.” The suspect, a man in his 60s, was arrested in the southwestern region of Lower Silesia, Kierwinski told public broadcaster TVP Info. “The services got to him through a thorough analysis of content posted online,” he added, saying the man’s “contacts and his activity on the internet are being examined.” Earlier, the interior ministry said Tusk and Kosiniak-Kamysz may have been the targets of assassination attempts. Galecka said police had been alerted by the State Protection Service (SOP) following reports of a potential threat against the premier and defense minister. |

| Netanyahu condemns ‘horrific’ attack on Riyadh airport that killed 12, injured hundreds |
![]() |
|
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu joined the chorus of condemnation on Sunday of a Houthi missile attack on an international airport in Riyadh the previous day, in which at least 12 people were killed, and more than 300 others were injured. Saturday’s attack, the deadliest on Saudi soil in more than a decade, was a sharp escalation in the Yemen war, where Riyadh backs the internationally recognized government against the Iran-backed Houthis, who captured swaths of Red Sea coastline in a lightning offensive last month. Netanyahu’s statement, which lamented the “horrific terrorist attack” on King Khalid International Airport, coincided with yet another attack on Sunday evening on the same terminal, which has been closed since Saturday’s strike. “I condemn in the strongest possible terms the horrific terrorist attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia,” Netanyahu wrote, extending Israel’s “deepest condolences” to the families of the victims. “Terrorism targets innocent people and seeks to spread fear and instability. It must be confronted with resolve,” the statement continued. “Israel looks forward to a strong Middle East—one that stands united against threats, protects its people, and builds a future of security, cooperation, and prosperity for all the peoples of our region.” |

| Netanyahu calls for criminal investigation into soldiers who appeared on NAZA film |
|
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu demands of IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, Shin Bet chief David Zini, and Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara to launch a criminal investigation into soldiers who appeared anonymously in the film NAZA “for serious information security offenses, criminal defamation, and harming Israel’s diplomatic and security interests.” The film is based on testimony from 24 unnamed Israeli soldiers who accuse the army of killing numerous civilians in Gaza with the use of AI-powered targeting systems. “There is concern that those involved in the film committed criminal offenses, including serious offenses involving the exposure of classified information and a breach of information security by a highly sensitive intelligence unit,” Netanyahu says in a letter released by his office. He says investigators must uncover the identities of the soldiers who appeared in the film. The Israeli army has “categorically” rejected the accusations contained in the film, expressing doubts about the reliability of the anonymous contributors. The military has said the film “presents a distorted, misleading and disingenuous picture of the IDF’s target planning and striking process” and that its narrative is “based on substantial factual errors stemming from manipulative misrepresentations of reality.” It also said “the interviewees, described as having served in IDF intelligence roles, usually refer to only limited, initial stages dealing with intelligence, rather than the much broader process of planning and approving strikes,” thus presenting a highly partial picture. |

| Military court sentences Palestinian to 45 years for 2022 shooting attack on bus carrying soldiers |

A military court has sentenced Muhammad Walid Ahmad Saeed to 45 years in prison for taking part in a 2022 shooting attack on a bus in the West Bank’s Jordan Valley carrying IDF soldiers, and trying to set it on fire. Saeed and three accomplices blocked the bus on September 4, 2022, poured flammable material on it and opened fire with an M16 rifle, the military prosecution says. The driver and two soldiers were wounded. After the driver was hit, an officer aboard stopped the bus from veering toward the roadside barrier, preventing further casualties. Saeed and his accomplices fled the scene and were later arrested. Saeed pleaded guilty to attempted murder as part of a group. The court also imposed a suspended sentence and a NIS 15,000 fine ($4,900), and ordered him to pay NIS 700,000 ($230,000) in compensation to the victims. Proceedings against his three alleged accomplices are ongoing. |
