US President Donald Trump again shares an image on his Truth Social account declaring that the Strait of Hormuz is “NEW US territory.” The post, which has no caption, comes after the US announced that it would be imposing “the toughest sanctions in history” on Iran, in a bid to ramp up economic pressure and force an end to the stand-off over the vital strait. Trump first shared the image on August 18, days after vowing that he would “soon” declare Hormuz a US territory. |

| Shock in Haifa: Yeshiva Bachur Arrested and Handed Over to Military Police |

A yeshiva Bachur was arrested in Haifa while traveling toward Rechasim after what began as a routine problem with his public transportation card. According to reports, police stopped the Bchurb to clarify an issue with his bus ticket. During the check, officers discovered that he was wanted by military authorities over his draft status, and he was subsequently transferred to military police custody. The arrest has caused deep concern across the yeshiva world, particularly as thousands of Bachurim have only recently returned to their Yeshivah for the new zeman. The incident comes just days after another yeshiva Bachur was detained near Beit Shean and later transferred to military authorities under similar circumstances. Community figures warned that ordinary encounters with police or transportation officials can now result in arrest for affected students. They urged the tzibbur to increase tefillos for those currently detained and for all students to be able to continue their learning undisturbed. |

| Netanyahu, Katz threaten to ‘intensify strikes’ on those launching kites from Gaza |

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz warn Hamas that the IDF will “intensify strikes” against those responsible for launching kites from Gaza toward Israeli border communities, and evacuate areas of the Strip. Netanyahu and Katz held an assessment this evening with IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir and other top military and defense officials on the recent kites. Over the weekend, at least four kites flown from Gaza landed in Kibbutz Nahal Oz. The army said nothing suspicious was found on the kites and there was no danger to the public, but many have associated the objects with Gazan kites and balloons carrying incendiary devices that plagued southern Israel in previous years. “Israel warns Hamas that if the launches toward Israel do not stop immediately, the IDF will act to intensify strikes against those responsible for the launches and evacuate populations from areas from which kites, drones and balloons are launched,” Netanyahu and Katz say in a joint statement. |

| IDF says its Gaza strikes today killed Hamas commander, hit arms production site near aid facility |

The Israeli Air Force bombed a Hamas weapons production site in the central Gaza Strip and killed a commander in the terror group in separate strikes today, the military announces. A strike in the Maghazi camp killed Ismail Abu Ful, who the military says was the commander of an arms production site. The IDF says “the terrorist took an active part in manufacturing explosive devices and anti-tank rockets” for Hamas, and he was “eliminated to remove the threat.” In a separate strike in the nearby town of az-Zawayda, the IAF struck a weapons manufacturing site “near an aid distribution point operated by an international organization,” according to the IDF. Shrapnel from that strike, which came after a warning by the IDF for residents of the area, reportedly killed two people, including a four-year-old boy, and injured several others. “This is another example of Hamas’s systematic use of and embedding within civilian infrastructure, including aid distribution centers, to advance and execute terror attacks against IDF troops operating in the Yellow Line area and against Israeli civilians,” the military says. The IDF says the arms production site shows that Hamas “systematically violates the ceasefire agreement while attempting to rehabilitate its military capabilities and strengthen its force buildup.” |

A Palestinian suspected of carrying out this morning’s terror stabbing attack near the village of al-Auja in the Jordan Valley was apprehended a short while ago by troops, the military says. The suspect, a 16-year-old from al-Auja, allegedly attacked a 24-year-old Israeli who had stopped next to the village for shopping, moderately injuring him, before fleeing the scene. Following an hours-long manhunt, troops detained the suspect in al-Auja, the army says. He was handed over to the Shin Bet for questioning. |
