Blow to Jewish Schools as Court Upholds VAT on Fees
picture hole

Jewish and Charedi private schools face a major financial blow after the High Court upheld the government’s decision to add 20% VAT to school fees.

Parents and schools challenged the move, arguing it was discriminatory and harmed families with no state alternatives, especially those with SEND children. But judges ruled that the policy was legal, having been passed by Parliament as part of a clear manifesto pledge.

The government says the tax will raise £1.8 billion a year for state education.

The Independent Schools Council said it is reviewing the judgment and considering next steps.

Many Jewish families, already struggling with rising costs, now face significantly higher school fees.

Trump says everyone should ‘immediately evacuate Tehran!’

US President Donald Trump urges everyone to immediately evacuate Tehran, and reiterates that Iran should have signed a nuclear deal with the United States.

“IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!” he writes in a post on Truth Social.

Israeli Pilot Speaks After Historic Iran Strike
picture hole

Major N., a 31-year-old Israeli Air Force pilot from Squadron 133, has broken silence as the first to speak publicly about Israel’s bold airstrike inside Iran, known as Operation “Am KeLavi” (With the Might of a Lion).

“This was my correction for October 7,” he said, referencing the day of the Hamas massacre. “Back then we were reacting. This time, we initiated.”

Flying over 1,500 kilometres into enemy airspace, N. described the moment Iranian pilots took off — and then vanished.

“They fled toward central Iran. They didn’t want to engage.”

The Israeli mission targeted key Iranian assets and was executed with precision, backed by a full military support system — intelligence, aerial refuelling, and electronic warfare.

“We trained for heavy resistance, but the skies were empty. It felt surreal,” he said.

N., now a reservist, called the mission a personal and national moment of redemption. “We faced a regime that threatens our existence. This was about restoring our strength — and showing that Israel can strike far and deep when necessary.”

The IDF confirmed no casualties in the operation. Iran, so far, has issued only vague statements — but the message from Israel was loud and clear.

IRGC vows to strike Israel ‘without interruption until dawn’

Iran will strike Israel “without interruption until dawn” overnight from Monday to Tuesday, its Revolutionary Guards announces.

“The ninth wave of combined drone and missile attacks has begun and will continue without interruption until dawn,” says the Guards’ spokesman, Ali Mohammad Naini, according to the official IRNA news agency.

There have not been any missile alerts in Israel in more than four hours. In the past some missiles and drones are shot down outside of Israel or fall short.

Opinion: After 46 Years of Rule, Iran’s Regime Faces Imminent Collapse

For the first time since the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Iran’s clerical regime is teetering on the brink of collapse. A combination of internal unrest, military pressure, and strategic strikes by Israel has shaken the foundations of the Islamic Republic. Analysts suggest that in a plausible scenario, key energy infrastructure and symbolic government buildings in Tehran could be targeted. This could trigger mass panic and cause members of the ruling elite to flee the capital—accelerating the collapse from within.

While the declared focus of recent Israeli operations has been Iran’s nuclear program, there appears to be a broader, perhaps unspoken, aim shared by many of Israel’s allies from both East and West: bringing an end to Iran’s Islamist regime. Historical failures in regime-change efforts have made such aspirations taboo in diplomatic circles—but Israel’s recent tactical successes are breathing new life into this possibility.

American involvement is a key consideration. Officially, the U.S. maintains a position of non-involvement, but in practice, Israel relies heavily on American military supplies, diplomatic backing at the UN, legal support in international courts, and critical cooperation in intercepting Iranian drones and missiles.

Israel’s decision to strike came almost simultaneously with the expiration of a 60-day ultimatum issued by President Trump, demanding Iran engage in meaningful negotiations. Not only did Tehran reject the demand, but it provocatively unveiled a new uranium enrichment facility just one day before the attack.

Though Trump is known to be wary of full-scale military conflict, the fact remains: only the United States possesses the firepower to neutralize Iran’s underground nuclear facilities in Natanz and Fordow. If Israel exhausts its capabilities, Washington may find the option of direct action increasingly difficult to ignore.

Despite the chaos, many in Israel see the unfolding events as clear signs of nissim — daily miracles from Hashem. As the pasuk in Tehillim (127:1) reminds us, “אם ה’ לא ישמור עיר, שוא שקד שומר” — “If Hashem does not guard the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.” This verse captures the deep sense among Israelis that no matter how advanced the defence systems or how skilled the military, true protection comes only from Above. From missile interceptions to political shifts in the region, many view these developments not merely as strategy, but as hashgacha pratis.

8 Killed, 287 Injured as Iranian Missiles Hit Petah Tikva, Haifa, Bnei Brak

At least eight people were killed and nearly 300 injured after Iranian ballistic missiles struck central Israel early Monday, in one of the deadliest barrages of the ongoing conflict.

The missiles hit multiple urban areas, including Petah Tikva, Haifa, Tel Aviv, and Bnei Brak. Four fatalities were reported in Petah Tikva, three in Haifa, and one in Bnei Brak. The Health Ministry said 287 people were hospitalized across the country. One person remains in serious condition, 14 sustained moderate injuries—including two children at Schneider Hospital—while the rest were lightly injured or treated for shock.

Emergency services scrambled to affected areas, where buildings lay in ruins and smoke filled the air. The US embassy branch in Tel Aviv sustained light damage but reported no casualties.

Foreign Minister Israel Katz declared that “Tehran residents will pay the price,” before later clarifying that Israel would avoid harming civilians. Tensions remain high as Israel weighs its next move.

The strike comes on the fourth day of intensifying hostilities, marking a dramatic escalation as Iranian missiles directly hit Israeli population centres for the first time. The IDF has vowed a decisive response.

Trump urges ‘everyone’ to flee Tehran, sparking speculation of widening conflict

US President Donald Trump sparked panic Monday night with an impromptu evacuation call for the entire city of Tehran, citing what he said was the country’s rejection of a deal to curb nuclear weapons development, as the conflict between Israel and the Islamic Republic appeared poised for further escalation.

“Iran should have signed the ‘deal’ I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social media platform, without elaborating on the reason that Iran’s capital city of 10 million people needed to be evacuated.
