| NYC Bus Driver Allegedly Held Students Captive On Way To School And Claimed Jews Killed Yoshka In Antisemitic Rant |
![]() |
|
A Brooklyn school bus driver has been suspended after reportedly stopping his morning route to share some strong religious views that upset several children, including some Jewish students, according to the NY Post. The driver allegedly accused Jews of killing Yoshka—a serious and mistaken claim that caused distress among the kids. Parents say the driver went off the usual route while driving students to Brooklyn Prospect International Elementary Charter School and began speaking about Yoshka in a way that scared and confused the children. One parent shared that the driver said, “The only one who can deliver you isn’t religion, it’s [Yoshka],” leaving the kids feeling bewildered. When a child asked if Yoshka was Jewish, the driver repeated an old accusation blaming Jews for his death, saying, “Yes, he was a Jew and basically Jews—his own kind—killed him because he said he was the son of God… These were religious leaders who killed him.” This claim is not true and has been strongly rejected by the Catholic Church and organizations like the Anti-Defamation League, which make clear that Jews, then or now, cannot be blamed for Yoshka’s death. One Jewish child was so upset by the driver’s words that they began to cry, and others quickly texted their parents during the ride. The driver also handed out white hats that said “I Am With You Always,” featuring a black cross, and encouraged the children to say a religious prayer with him. Parents were frustrated that the bus was late and that the children were essentially held captive during this.

A Jewish teenager was hospitalised following a suspected racially motivated assault at Hampstead Underground Station on Monday evening, according to the Jewish security organisation Shomrim. The incident, which took place over the bank holiday, involved three Jewish boys who were reportedly attacked by a group of six to seven men. One of the victims was taken to hospital for observation. Hampstead, home to one of the UK’s largest Jewish populations, saw 11 per cent of residents identifying as Jewish in the most recent census. A spokesperson for Shomrim North West London confirmed: “We responded to reports of a racially motivated assault on three Jewish boys at Hampstead Underground Station. One of the victims was admitted to hospital, and the suspects are believed to be a group of six to seven males.” In a statement released on Tuesday, the charity appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. They can be contacted on 0300 999 1234, quoting reference NW209 – 26 May 2025. Shomrim said they are supporting the victims and urged anyone affected by antisemitism to reach out. “We specialise in reporting and supporting victims of antisemitic crime,” the statement said. “All reports are handled with sensitivity and urgency.” |

| Gazans overrun Strip’s new aid center; operator says distribution has resumed |
![]() |
|
Thousands of Palestinians on Tuesday overran one of the newly established aid distribution sites in southern Gaza’s Rafah, only hours after the military announced the new aid mechanism, backed by Israel and the United States, began operating for the first time. Footage posted to social media showed crowds surging into the area and taking boxes of food. The IDF, which secures the area around the facility, confirmed that troops fired warning shots outside the compound, but denied reports claiming it opened fire from a helicopter or towards the center itself. A military source said an Israeli Air Force helicopter was operating over the sea at the time of the incident, but not anywhere close to the distribution site. “Control over the situation was established, food distribution operations are expected to continue as planned, and the safety of IDF troops was not compromised,” the military added. According to Palestinian reports, the American security personnel charged with securing the area fled the scene. There were no reports of casualties in the incident. The newly created Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation sought to downplay the incident, saying that its American security subcontractors fell back in order to allow “a small number” of people to take food. |

| Security cabinet said to secretly approve plan to establish 22 new West Bank settlements |

Israel’s security cabinet held a vote in secret last week to approve the establishment of 22 new West Bank settlements, according to Hebrew media reports. The motion was said to have been put forward by Defense Minister Israel Katz and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich. The Israel Hayom news outlet reports that the government intends to use the new settlements to bolster Israel’s presence around Route 443, which connects Jerusalem and Tel Aviv via Modiin. A section of the route passes through the West Bank. Yesha Council chair Israel Ganz declares the secret government decision to be “the most important decision since 1967,” when Israel gained control over large swaths of land in the West Bank.
