Regarding the shocking story in Antwerp involving the mohalim:

There are no words to express the pain and outrage felt by every Yid upon reading this report.
I wonder whether it would be permitted to name the moiser who went to the authorities with this unforgivable bilbul, so that we can have him in mind when reciting the berachah of ולמלשינים.

Guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Mrs. Chana Cohen

The Chinuch Crisis in the UK – A Wake-Up Call from Within

In light of the current Gzeiras Hachinuch being imposed by the UK government, many within our community have justifiably expressed deep concern over the future of Chinuch in this country. However, before we focus solely on the external threats, it may be time to take a serious look inward.

What kind of Chinuch are we truly providing to our own children when, in shul after shul, we find so-called “Torah” newspapers scattered around—distracting us from the Siddur and from Tefillah? Even those who refrain from reading these publications during davening often think nothing of opening a sefer and learning during the very moments we are supposed to be speaking to Hashem.

Would any Rebbe or teacher allow his students to do that during a lesson?

Would any headmaster tolerate students strolling in 10, 15, or 20 minutes late, day after day? In school, 95% of students are in their seats on time. In shul, you’re fortunate if 5% of the mispallelim arrive at the start of davening.

Yes, Chinuch is under attack—but perhaps Hashem is sending us a wake-up call to examine the state of Chinuch in our own homes and shuls first. If we want to claim the moral high ground and defend our values, we must live them with sincerity and consistency.

With nearly 1,000 daily minyanim across the UK, can we honestly say that even a handful are free of these distractions, where people daven purely from a Siddur, with full focus?

Let’s put our own house in order—so that when we stand up to defend Chinuch, we do so with integrity.

Yours sincerely,
D. Leitner

UK, France, Canada warn of ‘concrete actions’ if Israel doesn’t halt war, boost aid

The leaders of the United Kingdom, France and Canada issued a joint statement Monday condemning Israel’s handling of the humanitarian situation in Gaza and calling on the Jewish state to immediately halt military action in the enclave and allow in more aid, threatening “further concrete actions in response” if Jerusalem refuses.

The three leaders called Israel’s announcement Sunday to allow a limited amount of aid into Gaza “wholly inadequate” and said the country’s failure to assist the Gazan civilian population “is unacceptable and risks breaching International Humanitarian Law.”

Netanyahu hit back in a statement, saying London, Paris and Ottawa were “offering a huge prize for the genocidal attack on Israel on October 7 while inviting more such atrocities.”

The earlier statement from the three Western countries called on Israel to engage with the United Nations “to ensure a return to delivery of aid in line with humanitarian principles.”

Five aid trucks entered Gaza on Monday for the first time since March 1, when Israel halted the assistance to pressure the terror group to release dozens of hostages it is holding. Israel argued that a sufficient amount of goods entered the Strip during a six-week ceasefire and that Hamas has been stealing much of that aid. In recent weeks, though, some officials in the IDF have begun warning the political leadership that the enclave was on the brink of starvation.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the immediate resumption of “basic” humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip on Sunday evening, making a highly unpopular decision among his right-wing circles in light of mounting pressure from Washington to end the blockade.

The aid began entering the Strip as the military pushed ahead with a fresh operation in Gaza, dubbed “Gideon’s Chariots,” which, according to Israeli officials, would see the IDF “conquer” Gaza, raze the vast majority of buildings and retain the territory for the foreseeable future; attack Hamas and prevent it from taking control of humanitarian aid supplies; and move Palestinians from Gaza’s north to its south.

Trump and Putin Speak About Ending War, Trade Deals

US President Donald Trump held a 2-hour long phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, as confirmed by a US official speaking to CNN and reported by Russian state news agency TASS.

Just completed my two hour call with President Vladimir Putin of Russia. I

“I believe it went very well,” Trump wrote regarding the phone call, adding that the “tone and spirit” of the call were “excellent.”

“Russia and Ukraine will immediately start negotiations toward a Ceasefire and, more importantly, an END to the War,” he wrote.

“The conditions for that will be negotiated between the two parties, as it can only be, because they know details of a negotiation that nobody else would be aware of.”

Trump wrote that Russia wants to “do largescale TRADE with the United States when this catastrophic ‘bloodbath’ is over, and I agree. There is a tremendous opportunity for Russia to create massive amounts of jobs and wealth. Its potential is UNLIMITED. Likewise, Ukraine can be a great beneficiary on Trade, in the process of rebuilding its Country.”

Yemen’s Houthis vow ‘naval blockade’ of Haifa port

Yemen’s Houthi rebels claim they will enforce a “naval blockade” of Haifa port, warning that ships heading there are now “targets.”

The Houthis will “begin working to enforce a naval blockade of the port of Haifa,” says military spokesman Yehya Saree. “All companies with ships present in or heading to this port are hereby notified that, as of the time of this announcement, the aforementioned port has been included in the target bank.”

The Houthis have claimed a similar blocked of Ben Gurion Airport, but have not come close to such a goal, even in light of a recent missile attack on the airport that caused a slew of foreign carriers to cancel their routes.
