Dear Readers, We write to you with deep urgency to share the truth about a clear and present threat to Torah chinuch in the UK. This is not theoretical. This is not far away. This is happening now—here in England—and it stands in direct contradiction to the Torah. We are witnessing a coordinated and ideologically driven campaign to undermine the foundations of authentic Torah education across the country. What we face is far worse than anything we have seen before. Certain powerful organisations, including the National Secular Society and others with documented hostility to Charedi values, have spent years quietly but forcefully advancing a vision of British society in which religious distinctiveness is unwelcome—and soon, unlawful. Their agenda is not one of fairness or safeguarding. It is one of forced conformity. They seek to remake education in the image of secular Britain and to silence Torah fidelity in the name of “progress.” And now, they are close to achieving their goal.
The Schools Bill: A Sinking Web of ControlThe Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill is a carefully crafted piece of legislation designed to draw every faith-based educational setting—yeshivas, schools, home education—into an irreversible trap.It begins with Ofsted and local authorities being granted sweeping new powers. Powers to:• Decide who is “fit” to lead a yeshiva or oversee home education.• Enforce the teaching of content that directly contradicts Torah values, including kefira, pritzus, and moral perversions that no Jewish child should ever be exposed to.• Intervene in private homes to determine whether attendance at a yeshiva or Torah programme is “suitable.”• Restrict the age at which a child can begin full-time Torah study. And behind these changes lies something even more chilling: an unspoken aim to create one uniform education system in which every child, from every community, is expected to absorb the same full national curriculum—regardless of background or belief. This is not inclusion. This is cultural erasure—a soft but systematic effort to strip away the unique identity of every minority in the name of “integration.”Will Jewish children be taught Torah by dedicated mechanchim, or by government-approved administrators selected for their secular credentials? Will the sacred values of Klal Yisroel be preserved, or steadily replaced by the ideologies of “21st century Britain”? This is not a matter of speculation. These intentions are explicitly outlined in government literature.
This Is Not About Regulation. It Is About Erasing Chinuch. What begins as a seemingly “reasonable” government oversight, leads step by step, to ever-deeper intrusion. What was unthinkable becomes tolerated. What is tolerated becomes law.We are not dealing with misunderstanding. We are dealing with a deliberate ideological assault against Torah values—couched in the language of “wellbeing” and “inclusion.”This Bill gives the state the power to dictate what our children can learn, how we must teach, and what beliefs they are allowed to hold. And all this, without any credible evidence that our children are at risk. Where are the statistics? Where is the proof that our derech in chinuch is failing? There is none. Our yeshivos, our talmidim, our daughters and sons—they are shining examples of personal responsibility, refinement, and fear of Heaven. And yet, the vague language of the Bill labels our way of life as a “risk” simply because it does not mirror secular norms.
This Is Not Just About Now. This Is About the Future. We ask: even if one yeshiva or school somehow manages to maintain its standards today—who will carry the burden tomorrow?Who will defend the right of the next generation of children to receive pure, unfiltered Torah education?Who will stand up to government officials or askonim who say, “We had no choice”?
This Is Not Their Campaign. It Is Ours. This is not a time for waiting. Not a time for silence. Not a time to rely on backroom negotiations and quiet compromises. This is the time to speak out. Loudly. Clearly. As one.We must let the government know: these demands are unworkable, intolerable, and spiritually destructive to our communities.More than 20 members of the House of Lords have already voiced concern—but that alone is not enough.
What Must Be Done – And Now• All adults (18+) are urged to sign the declaration – CLICK HERE• Text “OK” to 07463 066 613 to sign via SMS• Share this message with family, friends, neighbours, and community members• Encourage rabbonim and askonim to read the government documentation themselves—it is shocking, and it makes the urgency unmistakable• Contribute ideas, feedback, or offers to help by emailing: [email protected]
This Is a Milchemes Hashem. This is not a debate of tactics. This is not about style. This is about whether Torah chinuch can survive in England for the next generation. This is a moment of national spiritual accountability. It is a time of truth and action. With siyata d’Shmaya, and the strength of a united voice, we will not submit. We will not concede. We will not be broken—not from within and not from without.Let it be written in the book of history:That in the year תשפ״ה, the parents and mechanchim of Klal Yisroel stood firm and defended the Torah of their children—without fear, without shame, and without compromise. In the name of Hashem, we will act, and we will prevail.
