Videos on the Jewish Blast Such a Kiddush Hashem! Only 4.55% of all the subscribers are watching videos, as the Rabbanim had told us not to watch any kind of videos. MI KAMCAH YISROEL M.L. – Golders Green Kol Hakavod! I actually read only the news from you. I do not watch any videos, as I feel it is a real bitul zman. I would suggest stopping all the videos completely. I even think you will get more subscribers to the Jewish Blast if you do so. C.S. – London That’s totally not true. Out of your 11,000 subscribers, at least 7,000 watch the videos, either themselves or through someone in the family. Look at how many families have problem children who wait for those videos. Please, please put them back. Y.P. Stamford Hill
In response to YY about the daily videos: those “500 people” are the ones who rely on and ONLY look at Jewish Blast, with no other news outlets! Plus, you cannot overestimate the positive influence of watching the Rav Biderman, Gibor, and Vayemoein videos. PLEASE reinstate them!! EG I read the letter and your reply about limiting videos to two days a week with interest. 500 subscribers watching videos is quite a significant number! It is probably subscribers like myself who rely only on the Jewish Blast for their news outlet. I also wonder why there is no Daily Blast on Sunday. (Five days a week is not quite “daily.”) Especially now, with the Matzav in E.Y., a lot of things happen over Friday afternoon/Shabbos, and we have no knowledge of this if we just get the news from the Daily Blast. Thank you for your excellent coverage of news in general! GK- Manchester

Top Trump official Waltz: Iran must fully dismantle nuke program, not only curb enrichment |
After US special envoy to the Mideast Steve Witkoff said Friday that President Donald Trump, in his letter to Iran’s supreme leader, proposed creating a program to verify that Tehran does not weaponize its nuclear material, US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz clarifies that Washington wants Iran’s nuclear program dismantled completely. “Full dismantlement,” Waltz tells CBS’s “Face the Nation,” after being asked to clarify the Trump administration’s position. “Iran has to give up its program in a way that the entire world can see.” “All options are on the table, and it is time for Iran to walk away completely from its desire to have a nuclear weapon,” he adds. Asked about the recent US strikes against the Houthis, Waltz says they have killed key members of the Yemen rebel group’s leadership. “We’ve hit their headquarters, we’ve hit communications nodes, weapons factories, and even some of their over-the-water drone production facilities just in the last couple of days,” he says, knocking the previous administration for not responding forcefully enough against the Iran-backed group. Waltz says the Houthis continue to threaten key shipping lanes through the Red Sea. “The last time one of our destroyers went through the straits there, it was attacked 23 times. Seventy-five percent of our US-flagged shipping now has to go around the southern coast of Africa, rather than going through the Suez Canal.” “Keeping trade and commerce open is a fundamental aspect of our national security,” he adds. |

French Rav Violently assaulted in antisemitic hate crime |
![]() |
The Rav of the city of Orléans, about 74 miles southwest of Paris, was violently attacked in front of his son while returning from shul on Shabbos, French media reported. The reports said that Rabbi Aryeh Engelberg was on his way back from the shul at 1:30 p.m., accompanied by his 9-year-old son, when the assailant attacked him, kicking and punching him and biting him on his shoulder. A passerby intervened, and the attacker left the scene. Rabbi Engelberg filed a complaint at the Orléans police station, and the Orléans prosecutor opened an investigation for “intentional violence committed because of the victim’s religious affiliation.” Yan, a resident of Orléans who witnessed the attack, said he saw the assailant giving the Rabbi “three or four violent blows.” “I saw the attacker kicking the Rabbi’s hat,” he said. “He had blood around his neck, it looked like he was injured in his hand because he fought back.” French police arrested the assailant, a 16-year-old minor, at 9:45 p.m. on Motzei Shabbos. Orléans Mayor Serge Grouard condemned the attack in a statement he published on X and expressed his full support for the Rabbi, his family and the entire Jewish community. |

If There’s No Progress, We Will Leave the Coalition’: Leading Rabbis Meet in Bnei Brak |
A critical meeting took place at the home of Maran Rabbi Dov Landau, attended by the Gerrer Rebbe, and Rabbi Moshe Hilol Hirsch, where discussions revolved around the future of Israel’s coalition government. The meeting focused on the pressing issue of the draft law and its implications for yeshiva students. The rabbis emphasized the urgent need to secure the legal status of yeshiva students, enabling them to continue their studies without interference. During the meeting, it was decided that the members of the United Torah Judaism (UTJ) party would approach Prime Minister Netanyahu to demand action on the draft law. If no progress is made on the law by Shavuos, Israel’s leading rabbis will reconvene to make a final decision. The message was clear: if the government does not take meaningful steps to address the issue, they will withdraw from the coalition. Sources from the Degel HaTorah party mentioned that while no official deadline was set for the Prime Minister, the message about the urgency of passing the law was communicated clearly. This issue became especially sensitive after the High Court ruling that mandated equal conscription and ordered the cessation of government funding to yeshivas whose students do not enlist in the army. The Charedi parties view the recruitment of yeshiva students as a red line that cannot be crossed. Political analysts believe that the outcome of the meeting will be conveyed to Prime Minister Netanyahu, who will need to decide whether to meet the demands of the rabbis or risk a coalition collapse and early elections. |

Hamas confirms senior official killed in hospital attack |
Hamas confirms that senior official Ismail Barhoum was killed in an Israeli strike earlier today. In a statement, the group says Barhoum, a member of the terror group’s political bureau, was killed in an Israeli strike in Nasser hospital in Khan Younis while undergoing treatment there. Earlier Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed the IDF “successfully eliminated” Barhoum, who he says was “the new Hamas prime minister in Gaza, who replaced Issam Da’alis, the previous prime minister who was eliminated a few days ago.” Out of the 20 members of Hamas’s political bureau elected in 2021, 11 have been assassinated during the war in Gaza, and seven are either certainly or highly likely to be outside the Gaza Strip. |
