In concession speech, Harris urges supporters to ‘keep fighting’ |
Defeated Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris urges her supporters to “keep fighting” as she publicly acknowledged her loss to Donald Trump for the first time. “The outcome of this election is not what we wanted, not what we fought for, not what we voted for, but hear me when I say that the light of America’s promise will always burn bright as long as we never give up and as long as we keep fighting,” she tells supporters. She pledges to “help” Trump with the presidential transition, and tells supporters “we must accept the results.” “While I concede this election,” she says, “I do not concede the fight that fueled this campaign.” “I will never give up a fight for a future where Americans can pursue their dreams ambitions and aspirations,” she says. America, she adds, “will never give up the fight for our democracy.” “We will continue to wage this fight in the voting booth, in the courts and in the public square,” Harris said, a nod to the work Democrats are poised to do in the next four years. |

Israir to operate direct flights to NY, end El Al monopoly |
In a significant development for US-Israel air travel, Israel’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has initiated talks with US regulators to enable Israir Airlines to operate direct flights to New York. The airline is simultaneously exploring options to wet-lease two wide-body aircraft for these operations, though the approval process could take several months. The carrier aims to launch direct service between Tel Aviv and Newark during the upcoming winter season. The airline faces several hurdles before finalizing these plans. The lease agreement remains unsigned, and multiple complex conditions must be satisfied, including securing necessary US regulatory approvals and addressing challenges related to Israel’s aviation services law regarding Israir’s proposed expansion. Under the proposed wet-lease structure, Israir would utilize aircraft and crews from a foreign carrier while operating flights under its own designation. Though negotiations continue, Israel’s Transportation Ministry has granted preliminary approval from the Israeli perspective, marking an initial step in the complex process of establishing direct US routes. |

Poll shows slight drop in support for Netanyahu after Gallant firing; 55% say DM shouldn’t have been sacked |
A poll indicates a slight drop in support for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his coalition a day after his controversial firing of Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. It also shows most respondents are opposed to the defense minister’s dismissal. Netanyahu’s Likud would win 25 seats if elections were held today, the Channel 12 poll finds, down one mandate from the channel’s poll last week. Benny Gantz’s National Unity would get 20 seats, while Yair Lapid’s Yesh Atid would get 15. Avigdor Liberman’s Yisrael Beytenu would get 13 and The Democrats — the unified left-wing Labor and Meretz under Yair Golan — would win 11. The ultra-Orthodox Shas would win 10, United Torah Judaism gets eight seats in the poll, as did far-right Itamar Ben Gvir’s Otzma Yehudit, while the two Arab-majority parties Hadash-Ta’al and Ra’am each won five. |

Teen killed by Hezbollah rocket in north; another hits area near Ben Gurion Airport |
An Israeli teenager was killed by a Hezbollah rocket in the north on Wednesday, after the terror group also fired rockets twice throughout the day at central Israel, demonstrating it maintains the capability to launch long-range attacks even as the Israeli military pursues its ground operation in southern Lebanon. A barrage of rockets at northern Israel Wednesday evening killed a teenager, whose body was only discovered hours later in Kibbutz Kfar Masaryk near Acre. The Magen David Adom ambulance service said that a farmhand who found the body led medics to the site, where they located the victim suffering from severe shrapnel injuries and declared him dead at the scene. He was later identified as Sivan Sade, an 18-year-old from the kibbutz who was working in the fields. The IDF said that Hezbollah fired more than 150 rockets at Israel throughout Wednesday, including a barrage of 25 rockets at the Western Galilee and the Haifa Bay area. Meanwhile Israeli fighter jets carried out strikes in southern Beirut targeting Hezbollah infrastructure, following a day of long-range rocket fire on Israel, while the IDF chief of staff said the military must prepare to expand the Lebanon ground operation. In the late morning rocket barrage targeting central Israel, the IDF said 10 projectiles were fired from Lebanon, with most intercepted, but one rocket struck an area near Ben Gurion Airport. Debris from an intercepted rocket also hit an empty parked car in Ra’anana. No injuries were caused in the attack. Sirens rang out again shortly after 4 p.m. east of Tel Aviv. The IDF said they were caused by a single rocket that was intercepted. Some flights experienced delays and disruptions as a result of the rocket attacks. The Israel Airports Authority said the airport was “open and working normally for arrivals and departures.” In a statement, Hezbollah claimed to have targeted the IDF’s Tzrifin base, located south of Ben Gurion Airport, in the morning attack. The bases house a number of IDF units, including several training schools and a logistics center. Projectiles were also lobbed by the terror group at Israel throughout Tuesday, including a drone launched from Lebanon that set off sirens in Metula and Kfar Giladi and was shot down by the IDF, and two rockets fired from Lebanon that were intercepted after they triggered sirens in Haifa and surrounding communities. |
